File under awesome innovations!
If you’re looking for a unique, fun way to lessen your environmental footprint and get fit at the same time, you’re in luck.
The Twist and Clean, a semi-finalist in the Electrolux Design Lab 2012 contest, will have your unmentionables squeaky clean and your abs chiseled to perfection in no time.
OK, it may not guarantee you a six pack, but rest assured, it will be the most productive hula-hooping experience you’ll ever have
Introduced as a way for designers to “engage [the] senses in new and interesting ways”, the nifty competition’s 30 semi-finalists come from five continents and 20 countries (the 10 finalists will square off with their designs in Milan, Italy, in late October).
In coming up with their designs, entrants were asked to embrace Electrolux’s design philosophy “whilst working to create new home appliances that stimulate, engage and enlighten all of our senses.” (for more info on the contest, see the link in credits, below).

Just the thing for travel
So true, Madhu! And of course, you would be the one to think of it
What I’d like to know is why I can’t think up something like this. I used to be a whiz on a hula hoop in my youth!
I know, right? So very innovative! Thanks for stopping by, Rosie, always a pleasure to see you here!
That’s very cool…I bet it would help my waistline too! Thank you for sharing
Thank YOU for your comment – I appreciate it very much!
That is so cool! I would do this for sure
Looks like I might actually have fun doing the laundry!
I agree (but I’d have to load up on some major calories to get through all the hula-ing necessary to do all the laundry in my house!)
Oooh . . . more “go green!” stuff. Thanks, Z&G
My pleasure – thank you for stopping in!
Fun idea! I wonder if it’s hard to get a rhythm before the garments are distributed around the hoop. Catch 22 really.
Indeed! Excellent point
Thanks for commenting, much appreciated
Now I’ve seen everything.
Indeed! (If only they could make a dishwater that worked on the same basic premise…)
What a clever idea!
Agree! Thanks for commenting!
While I dance hula, I’ve never mastered…or even got the hang of a little bit…of hula hooping!
Definitely takes practice! (Me,I think if it ever comes to market, I’ll be gifting one to my kids who love to hula hoop!)
I use to be great at this and would have gotten a lot of unmentionable clean, but now I’m afraid I’d be looking at that thing laying down around my feet. The hula hoop, not the unmentionables. Lost my touch, and my waste line. Ugh! But, you go, Ms. Lee!
hahaha! Love you comment (as always!) F&F
I hula hoop myself, but I’ve never thought about it as handy
I’ve nominated you for The Addictive Blogger Award and hope you’ll like it and pick it up on my blog http://angelswhisper2011.wordpress.com/2012/09/05/the-addictive-blog-award/ Have a wonderful wednesday
It would certainly be interesting if it ever makes it to market!
this is so cool! i can get a workout and get laundry done at the same time!
Agree! (On the other hand, you could also bake a cake, and have a big fat slice of deliciousness while hula hooping AND getting your laundry done! Now THAT’S the ticket!)
Very cool! Thank you, Anne!
Thanks, Amy!
What a cool concept! I swear, some people are just more creative than others! =D
Yep, that definitely does qualify as creative! Thanks for commenting
Interesting idea!
Glad you think so!
Now that’s an idea! Very innovative. I wouldn’t mind getting me one if this ever hits the market. LOL!
Me too, Gracie! (A perfect Christmas gift for the kids, methinks!
)
Ha – you are amazing
I love this idea, so cool!
I thought so too! I hope she does well in the final competition!
That is just so awesome.. and fun!! I’m always amazed at the creativity on our planet!!
Me too, Barbara! (Now if they could make that hoop a whole lot BIGGER, I could probably put a dent in the laundry mountain we’ve got going over here ;P)
Brilliant! I love how Ms. Lee’s mind works.
Me too! I’ll have to check in later on in the year and see how she does in the final competition.
Indeed the most productive hula hoop experience!:)
and probably the coolest looking hula hoop I’ve ever seen to boot!
That is one of the most awesome things I have ever seen! I can’t hula hoop at all so the first few loads would take FOREVER. But I’d be willing to practice!
I think I’d need a lot of practice too!
what an innovated idea… signs of true genius… a big thumbs up for this design, as long as the wife doesn’t buy one and ask me to help with the washing…
ha ha! I thought the same thing about my husband
My granddaughter Sadie loves doing wii Hula Hoop, I wonder if my daughter could talk her into this!
I would definitely do my best to get my own kids on board!
Wow that is a cool idea
Cheers

I thought so too! Thanks for commenting CCU!
This is actually very smart and innovative! And fun!
I am not really sure if it’s going to work though….. People today are a bit lazy… Again, very smart!!!
I know what you mean, Ioanna! We have so much laundry, I’d have to eat a million calories a day just to get the energy to keep up with it all
